The Government has appointed a commission consisting of Messrs Augustus Morris and George Rankin, to enquire into the condition and working of the land laws of New South ! Wales. ;• . - : ]■ . >;' : Sydney, Jan. 10. The Marine Board inquiry into the circumstances attending the wreck of steamship New England, at 'Clarence • River Heads on the 27th ultimo, was concluded to«day. The Court found that the vessel was lost through the negligence of the pilot. Smith, and ordered that his certificate should be cancelled .
