The Auckland Mystery.
(BY TELEGRAPH.) PRESS ASSOCIATION".) Auckland, January 9. The Crown Prosecutor Raid an axe had b^en taken charge of by tho police, and submitted to Mr Pond, the Prou vinoial Analyst, m order that he might ascertain if there were any stains of blood oh it. He had examined the supposed blood marks, boih with the naked eye and with the microscope, and had found that there was no blood upon it, therefore the axe would have to be dismissed as evidence m the case. He might aao state that the bloodstained trousers and bat of the male prisoner had been examined by Mr Pond with a similar result. Blood was found upon the trousers, and it might be stains of blood of a mammal, but it was surrounded by some fatty matter, as it blood and grease mbfed together had dropped on it. He thought it only fair that this matter should be stated, as the Press had attached great im« portance to the discovery of these blood stains. Later. The evidence m the Hamilton alleged murder case is concluded, bqt the case is remanded till to-morrow, to giye counsel time to consider whether tp address the Court m defence,
