COMMERCIAL NEWS.
Wellington markets. Laery and Campbell report the markets stfll very unsettled. Potatoes are selling very slowly at £6 per ton ; new onions, 2d per lb, but anything Hire a quantity would reduce the prica to Id or Hd. There was no fresh butter ; eggs brought Is 2tl per dozeu ; cheese, 8d to B^J ; hatns and bacou continue to be hard to place. The grain trade is at a perfect staudstill, prices remaining unaltere ?. George Thomas reports produce prices as follows : — Oats, m anticipation of a plentiful h uvest, do uot command much attention, and prices are ruling a shade lower, 3s 5d to 3s 7£d being fair market quotations. Flour, unaltered; southern brands, £11 ss, but as the local production still remains at £11, not much business may bo noted. Fowl wheat, 3s 9d to 4s ; barley, 3s 9d ; bran, ,£4 10s ; pollard, £5 ; hams and bacon, B^l to 9d ; oatmeal, £15 10s ; oaten chaff, £4 to £4 10a ; maize, 4s Qd ; cheese, Bd.
