Destitution m Dunedin.

It appears from a letter which was read at a recent meeting of the committee of the Wellington Benevolent Society that destitution is steadily I increasing m Duuedin, and tbe Benevolent Institution there J is experiencing considerable difficulty m meeting all the demands which are being made upon the funds. It seems rather singular that such a state of affairs should exist m a city which claims to be the most prosperous m the colony, and at time when work is said to be plentiful everywhere.
