The Property Tax.
(Post.) We learn thab a number of persons who have received notice to pay propertytax for the year ending 31st March next are under the impression that such tax should be collected on the new statements of property just sent m. This is not so The tax which falls due on tli9 25th instant is based on the former assessment, which was made for three years, and the statements which were called for to be returned on or t before the 20th ult. will be used for the assessment of property for the three years commencing Ist April next.
