To the Editor of the Marlborough Press.
J. U LI LO JLJLLILLfI \JJ WU, iUlt/ C UKJ! Lf UJ II I / tOJ. Sir —It i? stated on reliable authority that F. A. Weld, Esq., our representative in the General Assembly, is on his way out, and may be expected to arrive in the province in a week or two, thus rendering it certain that we shall have his valuable services during the next meeting of the Assembly. There is also a rumour that it is the intention of the electors of the Awatcre to request him to become their representative in the first Provincial Council of the Province of Marlborough : should they return him (of which there can be no doubt), they will at the same time do honour to an old and respected settler, and secure a representative who will be a credit to themselves, the Council, and the province, and the most eligible to ensure a due respect for their interests. I am, &c., An Elector.
