WHAKAREWA CRICKET CLUB.

A large number of members were present at the annual meeting of the above club which was held in the Church of England schoolroom last Friday evening. Mr P. Knyvett occupied the chair. Minutes of last meeting and balance sheet for present season (showing a credit balance of 8s 6d) were read and confirmed.

•M’- J. S. Wratt offered a donation < f ten shillings and six pence to the club, a cricket ball to the best average bowler and the use of one of his paddocks for practices.' Mr Wraitt was heartily* thanked' for his-offer.

The election of officers resulted as follows: President :J. S. Wiatt; Vies Presidents ; 11. Haycock, P. G. Moffatt, H. Knyvett ; Secretary 11. Satherley ; Management Committee : C.’ Brunning, P. Knyvett, H. Satherley, W. Reuben, J. Williams ; Selection Committee : P. Knyvett,. T. Reuben, J.. Williams; Practice Captain : H. Satherley ; Delegates to association : H. Satherley and P. Knyvett. Resolved on the motion of Mr Knyvett seconded by Mr C. Brunning that the Club enter two teams for Junior fchampionship. Subscriptions were fixed at ss.

Resolved on the motion of Mr Coppins seconded by Mr C. Brunning that the Club’s delegates be instructed to endeavor to have the Junior banner com pleted and handed over to the club winning the Junior cup. A letter was ieceived from a Southi e**n re cricket material and appoint--1 ing a member*of the club agent for the for the sale of same. \ It was resolved to open the season Saturday September 10th with a match. Chapman was elected umpire for {season. sixteen names were handed in members. concluded the business.
