Messrs George Thomas and Co., fruit and produce auctioneers, report prices ruling in the "Wellington, Market, under *date 23rd July, as follows :—Apples, cooking are in fair demand 5s to 6s per case ; dessert, 5s to 9s per case. Pears, e coking 5s to 7s case, good demand ; dessert 6s to 14s per case. Lemons, fair sale local grown os to 6s per case. Tomatoes : hothouse grown are realising from lOd to Is per*lb.' Oranges; Island repacks fair sale 7s per case ; butter, dairy 8d to 9d ; eggs, to-day’s value is Is 6d for fresh, market declining ; Kumeras, 9s ewfc ; marrows 8s per dozen ; pumpkins 6s per sack ; onions, 5s to 5s 6d per cwt ; poultry: Fowls ,‘3s 6d, ducks 4s 6d, turkeys 12s per pair; pickling onions, 12s per cwt ; swedes, 2s 6d per cwt ; walnuts, s|d per lb.
