MOTUEKA WHARF BOARD.

The monthly meeting'of this Board was held on Tuesday afternoon. Piesent : Messrs Wratt, (Chairman), Beuke and Everett. Minutes of previous meeting read and adopted. Accounts amounting to L6B 18s were passed for payment.. The report of the wharfinger was read and eonsideied. A letter was received from the Marine Department, stating that the question of providing funds for Hai - bar protection will be considered in connection with the estiaiates of -expenditure for the current financial year. Resolved on the motion of Mr Beuke seconded by Mr Everett, That a copi! of the letter from the Marine Department be sent to Mr R. McKenzie, M.H.R., asking him to apply for an immediate grant of L2GO for Harbor protection. A claim was received from Mr W. KLatene for LI 3s 6d, for loss of buckets coming over the wharf. Resolved on trie motion of MrEverett, seconded by Mr Beuke, That Mr Katene be informed that his claim cannot be entertained Correspondence was received from Mr R. McKenzie -relating to Whaif Board matters. Resolved, ou the motion of Mr Everett, seconded by Mr Wratt, That the Motueka Borough Council be respectfully invited to meet the Wharf Board, at the Council chambers, on Wednesday, the 15th Inst.-,-at 2 p.m., to discuss all matters in connection with the correspondence received, relating to the Board with a view to calling a public meeting. A special meeting of the Board was held at 3 p.m.. and the following Bylaw was adopted, to come in force on August Ist 1903 :—"All vessels coming alongside the Motueka. Wharf shall pay in respect to their registered tonnage a wharf rate of one half penny per ton." Resolved, That the Secretary take the necessary steps to bring the above by-law in operation. This concluded the business.
