STOCKSALES. Christchurch, Juno 24. There was an average yarding of stock and a good attendance of buyers at Addington today. Fat Cattle: 159 were entered, including a few useful steers, but the larger proportion consisted of light. The beef pens were disposed of readily at about last week's rates. Fat sheep-—A large entry comprised numerous lines of particularly prime wethers and young" ewes which were eagerly competed for by freezing buyers at prices fully Is per head above last week's. For lighter weight wethers and medium quality ewes, the market was firm at last week's prices. Prime wethers 18s to 24s 3d ; lighter weights 15s lOd to 17s 6d ; merino wethers{fpr freezing 16s 3d to 20s';
