ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
Considerable interest was evinced on Wednesday last in the marriage which was celebrated at the Methodist Church between Mr James Atkins and Miss Jessie Letitia Simpson, members of two well known and highly r espected families in the Motueka district. The bride, who is the second daughter i f Mr Michael SimpsoD was tastefully dressed in cream satin, supplemented by the customary veil and orange blossoms, was accompanied as bridesmaids by Miss Elsa Simpson (attired in pink muslin with white satin hat, and carrying a shepherd’s crook) and Miss Eva Atkins (in white silk, with felt hat). The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Rowling as best man. The ceremony was impressively performed by Rev. Mr Reader and as the newly married couple left the Church the Wedding March was played by Miss E. Duncan. The bride was the recipient of numerous presents, including a handsome gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom, who also presented the bridesmaids with gold brooches. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a chaste set of gold sleeve links. The happy couple who ’intend to settle in the district, have the §good wishes of friends and acquaintances.
