Owing to pressure ou our space we are compelled to hold over till next issue a quantity of local news, including report of socials, at Motueka and Riwaka, reports of meetings, etc. Messrs Baigent, Beuke and Frank - lyn, the committee appointed by the Education Board, to deal with the local committee's application for improvements visited the school premises last Tuesday accompanied by the Chairman, Mr W. J. Moffatt, and decided to grant sufficient money to erect a new fence fronting High Street, a shelter shed, partition one room in the school, repair firewood shed, spouting and windows, and several other minor repairs. It will be noticed that the committee are already inviting tenders to do the work referred to

Bannister, a supplier to the Masierton Dairy Company averaged a test of 7.1 during the past month, although the weather has not been congenial to the best interests of the cow. Mr Bannister, it may be mentioned, stables his cows, and also feeds them on green oats chaff, and molasses, and no doubt the care he thus takes of them is responsible for the very high test. Individual tests for the month were 7.6, 7.1, and 6.5, butjthe average was 7.1.
