Mr Roderick McKenzie, M.H.R., for Motueka, will address the electors in the Institute Hall to-morrow, Wednesday, evening, and at Riwaka on Thursday night. The chair will be taken at eight o'clock. We reg/et to have to chronicle the death of Mrs Mary McDonald, which took place at her late residence, "Carrisbrook," High Street, this morning. The deceased, who had rea-hed thea°e of 78 years, lived in the Motueka district for many years, being accounted one of the early settlers. During her long residence Mrs McDonald gained the respect arid esteem of all, her career being marked by many acts of kindness and neighborly sympathy. The funeral takes place on Thursday afternoon. To morrow will be observed as a public holiday throughout thecolonvto celebrate the birthday of the Prince of Wales. A gold bar brooch, lost on High Street or Swan Road, is advertised for in this issue. The Riwaka Road Board will meet next Iriday evening, when the Cnairman for the ensuing year will be elected. Clients add the public are reminded that the next visit to Motueka of Messrs Gray and Parker, dentists, takes place next Monday and Tuesday, the monthly visits having been made a week earlier. Among the shipping entries in the Wanganui papers is the following item •—Departure—May 25th, Tilikum, yacht, 4 tons, Voss, for London, via Ports.
