Messrs Freeman It. Jackson and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams, report on their sale at Johnsonville on Thursday last as follows :--A full entry of bullocks came forward. The quality ranged from extra prime heavy to medium quality light and rough sorts. Bidding was keen throughout, especially for the quality bullocks. We quote :—Beef, from 24s to 25s per 1001 b, best bullocks .£lO 10s to £ll, others £9 to £9 12s 6d, lighter sorts £8 5s to £8 17s 6d, light heifers £Q 2s 6d. Sheep weie in small numbers and of good quality. Ewes sold up to 1 3s.
The following are the latest Christchurch. fruit market qnotations:— Apples, dessert, 3s to ss, cooking 2s to 3s case, pears 3s to Bs, according to quality, peaches, Teviot to -id, local 4d to 5d per lb, passions, New Zealand 4s to 5s per box, quinces, 3s 6d to 5s per case, oranges 4s to 6s per case, lemons, Italian 24s to 25s for 300's, cocoanuts 8s per sack, peanuts, Japanese 2|d per lb, grapes 9d to Is per lb.
