By the Athenic, which leaves Wellington 011 the 14th May, Mr James Low, of the Sandy Bay school intends to journey to the Old Country. During his residence in this district Mr Low has rendered valuable assistance to the cause of education and we in common with his numerous friends wish him a pleasant voyage. On Saturday, before Mr H. W. Robinson, Registrar of the Supreme Court at Nelson, probate of the will of the late J. F. Wilson, oi Motueka, vas granted to Mrs M. Wilson, Mr Johansen appearing for the applicant. The Nelson railway time table for the Easter Holidays is published in this issue. Complete arrangements have been made for the convenience of those who wish to spend their holidays in the country or for those who elect to visit Nelson from the country. The Riwaka Football club holds its annual meeting this evening. The annual meeting of the Motueka Football Club will be held on Wednesday evening. We remind the public of the meeting of the Motueka Gymnasium Club which is to be held this evening in the Church schoolroom. Officers and Committee are to be elec ed and other business transacted. A valuable mare is advertised for sale by Mr Charles E- Lowe, of Riwaka. The animal is thoroughly sound, broken to harness and as Mr Lowe is well known to be an excellent judge of horseflesh any person needing a useful horse can depend upon getting good value for money. luanother column will be found a business notification by Mr H. Miller, who has decided to start here as a bricklayer. Mr Miller is a thoroughly competent tradesman and we have no doubt he will give satisfaction to all who entrust him with their orders. An entirely new stock of winter drapery has been received by Messrs Rankin and Son.*, which is now open for inspection and selection. The st >ck includes ladies jackets, capes, cloaks ami macintoshes, latest shades of dress materials, and velveteens . etc. Trimmed millinery is made a specialty. On Saturday next a team from the Motueka Cricket Club try conclusions with an eleven from the Takaka Cricket Club. The local team leaves Motueka on Friday morning at 2, by the S.S. Tasman and returns on Sunday by the Lady Barkly. We t-ire requested to state that the office of the Registrar of Births. Deaths and Marriages, will be closed from Thur.-day until Tuesday next.
