NEW VOLUNTEER REGULATION.
Paragraph 137 of the Volunteer regulations has been cancelled and the following substituted : Members of Mounted Rifles must either train for one week at a time in camp, or else attend a total of eighteen mounted parades in the year, at which at least half of the strength must be present. Parades in camp to count. If the training is in camp for a week each man must be present during the whole of such training, and be present on at least three other dismounted parades during the year, irrespective of camp, of not less than two hours’ duration • these dismounted parades need not be by daylight. If the training of the corps is by- eighteen parades during the y-ear. each member, to earn capitation, must be present at such parades, and must be present on at least three other dismounted parades of not less than two hours’ duration, and at which at least half of the strength is present; these dismounted parades need not be Dy daylight. In addition to qualifying by either of the above methods, two thii ds of the stiength of the company must be present on at least four parades during the year. The |minimum stiength of mounted rifle companies is reduced to forty-three.
