Despite the continuous and energetic efforts of the local Stock Inspector. Mr Duncan, and his staff, tuberculosis and actinimyeosis continue very prevalent throughout the Ma uuvatu district. During the past eleven months fully 300 head of cattle have been condemned by the Inspector in his district, a number being converted into manure at the Longburn Freezi lg Works. A Commission has been appointed by the Lords of the Admiralty to recommend the construction of a defensive harbour on the eastern side of Gibraltar, at a cost of six and a half millions. Last year is claimed to have been the most prosperous, ever enjoyed by Canada.
