Christchurch, Februaiy 11

At the Addington market today 125 fat cattle were yarded. Prime beef sorts were rather easier than at previous sale. Steers L7ss to Lll ; heifers L6toL 9 2s ; extra good LIO ; cows L 6 10 to L 8 15s ; extra good L 9 ss. Beef 22s to 25s per 1001 b. Store to dairy cattle A fair yarding met with poor demand, and prices suffered in consequence.

Fat sheep—There was a fair yarding including several North Island lines. The demand was very poor. Prices were lower all round and there whs a substantial drop, amounting to from 2s to 2s 6d per head in case of medium and inferior sorts... Freezing wethers realised from 16s 6d to.lßs Id; unfinhh :d wethers and ewes* 13s 6d to 15s ; be?st butchers ewes 14s 6d to 17s; six extra heavy 19s ; medium from 12s 6d to 145.; others 9s 6d to 1,25.

Fat lambs—There vas a yarding of 3034, and the quality was rather better than last week. The market open-, ed weak, and though-it improved later, prices were on the whole a trifle easier Freezers sold at from 12s 6d to 15s Id one line of extra quality bringing 15s to 1 5s lid; graziers' and butchers' lots 9s 6<l to 12s-6d,

Store sheep and lambs—There was an entry of about 15,000, including several lines from the North Island The sale was a very dragging one, a large proportion of lots offered being passed. The range of prices was Lambs from 8s 4d to lis Id for good conditioned sorts ; others from 7s ; culls from 4s ; ewes up to 14s lid ; wethers, to 15s 3d.

Pigs—There was only a moderate su PPly» both as regards numbers and quality. The yarding, which met a good demand, included a consignment of baconers from the Chatham Islands, which sold at fiom 42s to 60s, equal to from to 5d Ih ; porkers realised 34s to 425, equal stores LI to LI T«6d ; medium 15s to LI ; suckers and weaners 12s to 15s.

Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams, report on their sale at Johnsonville on Tuesday last as follows :—A small entry of light bullocks of prime quality and a few good cows sold freely. We quote beef at 26s to 26s 6d per 1001 b : best bullocks <£lQ to 7s 6d ; others £9 10s to £9 17s 6d ; cows ,£6 17s 6d to L 7 15s. The sheep yarded were mostly of good quality, and sold freely. Wethers, 12s lid to 13s 6d ; light 12s 4d ; prime ewes 12s 9d ; others 10s 6d to lis lOd. A line of prime lambs sold at 10s to lls ; others 8s to 9s. Light pigs 18.
