RIWAKA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held last Friday evening. Present : Messrs Drummond (chairman), James, Pattie, and Holder. Minutes of previous meeting read and adopted.
In answer to a letter from Mr Steele re clay for roadmetalling, it was resolved that a reply be sent stating that the Board had plenty of good metal in the locality The following accounts were passed for payment : Miller and Sons £2 4s 4d, Burnard 18s 2d, Lucas and Sons 9s. A McLean 10s, G. Budden £3 10s, W. Duncan £A 19s, McNab (refund) .£l3 10s. The dayman was instructed to repair the road near the school at Brooklyn, where necessary..* Proposed by Mr Pattie. seconded by Mr James, That the members of the Board now present, inspect the bridge near Mr Inglis' and that they give instructions for the needed repairs. The proposal of Mr Holder, that Hickmott and Bradley be granted a progress payment for metalling done on the Riwaka "Valley road was not seconded. This concluded the business.
