A motor car capable of carrying ten passengers and a driver has made its appearance in Wellington streets. A lady living on the Boulevard Magenta met with an extraordinary adventure.on November 16. She had ordered a cab to fetch her home from a friend's house at midnight. When she came out to find her cab it was one a.m. "Ah," snd the cabman, "you have played a nice game with me, keeping me he:e all this time." The cab then drove off at a furious pace, and the lady began to realise with terror thab she was being driven out of Paris, perhaps to be robbed and murdered. Presently in a dese-red side stree', outside the fortificati )ns, the cab stopped and the cabman got down from his seat then, little mother," he said, producing a greasy pack of cards, "you have got to play a game with me." The trembling lady, who had her watch and purse in her hand ready to offer the man, saw that he was mad. She resolved to humor him. By tbo light of the cab lamps she played two games of ecarte with the mad driver. She won both games, whereupon the cabman got up on his box and drove her straight home. "No," he said, "I don't want any fare. You won it just now at cards."
