Field particulars regarding the laying of one of his Wyandotte cross hens. She commenced May 28th and ceased September 14th, having laid 100 eggs in 109 days. For 22 consecutive days—Aug. 7th to 29th—she never missed. Since the cessation of hostilities in South Africa interest in the volunteering movemeht _ has decidedly waned. Throughout the colony the want of suitable recruits is seriously affecting the one time strong companies.
