Houses are fetching extravagantly hijjh rents in Pretoria. One with four rooms readily lets at £l2 to ,£ls a month, while for a six or eight roomed 1 oase £25 a month is asked and received. Some Taranaki farmers are dehorning their cows while they are in full milk, and find it pays to do so. The autumn is, however, the best season.
