STOCK SALES. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham a.:id Williams, report on their sale at Johnsonville on Tuesday last as f dlovvs : —A small entry of bullocks of good quality sold freely, light bul--1 >cks showing an advance on last week’s rates. We quote —Beef 28s t> 29s per 1001 b. Best bullocks, £ll to £ll 15s ; others, £lO 2s 6d to £lO I 7s 61. Sheep, in small numbers of fair duality, were easier. Wethers, light, 1 3s 61 to 14s 7d ; ewes, 10s 1 Od to 1 Is 3d. Lambs, 10s 6d to 10s lOd. Suckers, 13s. Dunedin, Pec 24. At Burnside market to-da} 7- 101 fab cattle were yarded. As most of the butchers had a Christmas supply the yarding proved sufficient. Prices f>r prime were equal to last week’s bit others were lower. Best bul--1 >cks, LlO to LI2 7s 6d ; medium, L 3 10s to L 9 17s 61 ; best cows and heifers, L 8 10s to L 9 15s ; medium, L 6 10s to L 8 5s ; others. L 4 15s to L 6. Fat Sheep —Only 163 were penned. Prices —Best wethers in wool, 21s t > 22s 6.1 ; extra heavy, to £7s 6d ; bavfc shorn wethers, 19s to 21s ; extra heavy, 23s to 25s 6d ; medium to gvxd, 15s 6d to 17s ; light, 12s 6d to 14s ; best ewes, 17s 6d to 19s 6d ; medium, 14s to 15s 6d ; others, 10 to 13s. R«.mbs —A large yarding, 1026 coming forward. Prime lambs sold well at 12s to 14s 6d, but medium quility were very dull of sale, and a laige numbea were turned out unsold. Pigs—Only 61 penned. Suckers 14s to 20s, porkers 34s to 48s, baconers 51s to 60s, heavy pig' 725. There were no slips or stores.
