MOTUEKA CRICKET CLUB.

The adjourned annual meeting of the above club was held last evening, when thei'e was a good attendance of members. The chair was taken by Mr H. Stewart, who called upon the Secretary to read the je inutes of previous meeting. Mr Jenkins presented the report and balance sheet. The receipts for the vear amounted to XI2 6s and the exThe report and balance sheet were adopted* the statement being considered very satisfactory. The election of officers was then pro ceeded with, with the following results: —President Mr F. Symes (re-elected), Vi,ce Presidents G. W. Jenkins, A. Manoy and R. Rankin (re-elected), T. Brougham and G. Boyce, Delegates to Cricket Association F. Mead and li. Boyce, Practice Captain F. Mead, Committee (to also act as Selection Committee) H. Boyce, A. Talbot, G. J. W. Boundy, B. Manoy, F. Mead, Secretary and Treasurer H. Stewart.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr' Jenkins for past services as Secretary and on the motion of Mr Green«ill he was elected a life member of the club.

Mr Jenkins returned thanks, in the course of his remarks stating that he would always be pleased to do his best to advance the interests of the club ; at the present bis spare time was fully occupied on important private business. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Macfarlane for acting as umpire during the past season and it was agreed that he be requested to fill a similar position this year. The new secretary was instructed to refund to Mr Jenkins, as soon as possible, the amounts paid out of pocket by that gentleman on account of the club. A letter was received from the Secretary of the Horticultural Society asking for the use of the ground for the 10th November; also one from the Nel on Athletic Cricket Club re a match, which they suggested should be plaved here on the same date. After considerable discussion and the tabling of a motion and several amendments it was finally agreed That the Horticultural Society be allowed the me of the ground on the 10th November at a rental of ten per cent on the gross takings. Subscriptions for the season were fixed as follows : —Seniors ss, juniors under 16, 2s 6d, fees, to he' paid before

the Bth November. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings. At a Committee meeting held immediately afterwards, Mr L. Manoy in the chair, the necessary cricketing materials were, arranged for, and the Secretary was instructed to write to the Horticultural Soeiety*re the use of the ground on the King’s Birthday, requesting them in the event of the Society declining the offer made that a counter one should be forwarded, to be considered by the Managemnt Committee of the Cricket Club on Monday evening at nine o’clock.
