UPPER MOUTERE ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, August 30th. Present: —Messrs Beuke (chairman), F. Bensemann, G. Bensematn, and Drogemuller. The minutes of previous meeting Mere read and confirmed. Accounts were paid for <£l 17s. Correspondence received : —From the Clerk of the County Council, nonce of payment to Boards account of G >vei a meat subsidy ; from the Paymaster General, notice of part payment of Government grant ; from the Stock Inspector*, replying to the Board’s letter re noxious weeds, and stating mat he had visited the district as requested; from the Department of Public Health re outbreak of scarlet fever; from the Chief Surveyor, Nelson, enclosing circular from the Department of Hoads, warning local bodies against m iking oavments of Government grant money for clerical or office expenses. Res >lotions passed : That the chairman and Mr F. Bensemann be appointed to lay off work for expenditure of remainder of Government goiut on Neudorf-Dovedale Road; t.nat the ford way on Rising Sun Valley R >ad be repaired ; that a week’s work bo done on Daly’s Road ; that the chairman and Mr G. Bensemann inspect road along Mr Griffiths’ property and have necessary work done.
