Messrs G. W. Moss and Co. report Yesterday’s sale (says Tuesday’s Grey.rnouth Star] at Preston yards as follows : —The entry consisted of 120 drime bullocks, 550 heavy sheep from Wanganui and 70 sheep from the Grey Valley. The entry was in excess of requirements, 15 cattle and 250 sheep being unsold. Prices both for cattle »nd soeep, though apparently high, are not satisfactory to the vendor : especially does this apply to cattle, which at the high values ruling elsewhere, leaves a. loss to the shipper. We sold the following stock : Fat Cattle —On account of Mr P. Corcoran, 40 handy weights from <£lo 10s to £8 for forward steers. On ac-i-ouat of Messrs M’Gregor and Wybourne 30 prime quality bullocks LlO to Ll2. Fat Sheep —On account of Mr R. Carne 72 ewes and wethers, 15s 9d. On account of Mr P. Corcoran, 31 heavy wethers 20s 3d ; 84 ewes, 15s 3d. On account of Mr John M’Gregor, 126 prime wethers, 19s 3d; 25 ewes 16s. Mark Sprot and Co report There was a full entiy of live stock at Preston yards yesterday consisting of 120 fat cattle from the North Island and 550 fat sheep. Value showed an advance oti late rates, but not satisfacshippers owing to the high prices rnlmii throughout the colony. Yv’e sold on account of Mr Keith, 30 cattle from LI 2 to LlO 7s 6d averaging LlO 10s, 200 fat wethers at 20s.
