The election to fill the extraordinary vacancy in the Riwaka Road Board takes place on Monday next. The following is the team selected to represent the Motueka Mounted Rifles in the friendly shooting match to take place,at East Takaka on Monday next, the 18th instant: Sergfc. Major Trolove, Sergeants Fowler and Askew, Corporals Cate, Deck and Waghorn, Troopers Cook, Haycock, W. Coppins, Beatson and Scott. The men will leave here on Sunday rnorning. The Takalm Mounted Rifles will be represented by Sergeants Hyland, and Barnett, Corporal Privates A, Barnett, F. Windle, C. Byrne, F. Fauchelle, F. Symes, R. and H. Sparrow. Emergencies W. Cobb, E. Baigentand A. Haines. The conditions are ten men aside, and seven shots each at 400, 500, and 600 yards. Mi- Starnes, the contractor for making the street through the Northwood estate, and Which is to be appropriately named Fearon Street, is now engaged in metalling the same prior to its being formally handed over to the C n-poration. Messrs Levin and Co., Limited, of Wellington, reported on Tuesday last as follows:—We offered thirty-five bales' wool and 1250 skins.
