were yarded, mostly secondary sorts. There was an improvement for prir e beef, which brought 18s 6d to 245, prime steers £9 5s to £lO 12s 6d, others £6 10s to £8 10s, best heifers £8 to £9 15s, cows L 5 to L 8 12s 6d. There was no business in stores. Good dairies stoo l well at L 7 10s to £9 12-i 61, others were neglected at L 4 to L 6 10s. Fat sheeps —3500, mostly ewes, with a few good wethers. Exporters and butchers competed for suitable wethers, but very best ewes were in de ; niand ; anything likely bo be in lamb was neglected, and several lines were i> ssed. Heavy wethers 19s to 22s 6'd, freezers 15s to 18s- 6d, ptiine heavy r-wes 17s t>2 Is 8d; good 12s ,6d to 16s 61, infeci >r 6s 6d to l Is.
