UPPER MOUTERE ROAD BOARD.

The above Board met on Saturday, May 31st. Present: Messrs Beuke, G. Bensemann, Droremuller and Wilkens. Mr Beuke was unanimously reelected chairman for ensuing year, the members all expressing appreciation of his past services. Mr Beuke suitably t acknowledged the expressions of confidence, and trusted that the business of the Board would continue to be well and harmoniously carried on. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Accounts were received amounting to £3 15s. Correspondence : —From the Clerk of the Waimea County Council, notify - ing payment at Bank New Zealand of an instalment# of rata. ; from R. J. Trewa.v«.s, giving prices of poisoned gjrain ; from the District Land Office, Kelson, returning specifications of Government grants duly approved. The Secretary was instructed to invite tenders (co-operative) for the work on the Dovedale road, tenders to be sent in by- Saturday, June 14th. Resolved : —That two bushels poisoned wheat be ordered from Mr Trewavas ; That the County Council be written to re vacancy in Board, asking for their opinion of the proper interpretation of those causes of the Road Boards Act 1882 and relative thereto; That Mr Tarrant be engaged to properly lay off work on Manuka Creek Road; That

one days work eaeh b€ji done, on Rising Sun Valley Road, Neudoi»T Road and on hill leading into Rising Sun Valley, repairing. with gravel ; That- a djay’s work be done on Road, making culvert, and y a day on Supplejack Valley road, repairing culvert arid filling ruts ; That a special meeting be held on Saturday, June I4th, at 7 p.m. The Roard then -adjourned.
