MOTUEKA WHARF BOARD.
The following is the text of a petition to. the Minister of. Marine, now being circulated throughout the district for signature : The Honourable, The Minister of Marine, Wellington. Sir: We, the undersigned, electorsof the Borough of Motueka, the Motueka Riding of the County of Waimea, and the late Lower Moutere Road District, hereby respectfully request that you will, in the next session of Parliament, be pleased to have an Act passed whereby the Motueka Wharf Board may be constituted an elective body of seven members: Two elected by the Borough of Motueka, Two* by the Road Board District of Riwaka, Two by the late Pangatotara Road District and that portion of the Motueka Road District which is not included in the Borough of Motueka, and One for the late Lower Moutere Road District. We sure if this were done it would give much more satisfaction to the public, as every portion of the above named Districts .vould then be directly represented on the Motueka Wharf Board. We respectfully trust you will be able to give effect to our wishes.
