CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor. Sir: By your report of the last meeting of the School Committee I see that Messrs Knapp, Wratt, and the Chairman resented the imputation cast upon me that I left because I put the Committee in debt. • This story, I may say, has been put in. circulation by one of the new members .who, however, does not appear to have courage to express that opinion .at the meeting. I desire to thank Messrs Knapp and Wratt for their kind expressions concerning me, and you also for having published their remarks, but that the present Chairman could find a good word for me, after throwing mud at me as he has done recently, makes me doubt, the sincerity of the encomiums passed, and further to say that, praise from that quarter is unwelcome. I am, etc., W. J. Moffatt.
