RIWAKA ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Friday, the 7th sinstant. Present: Messrs Bate (chairman), Cook, Fry and James. Minutes of previous weeting were read and adopted. Correspondence was received from Lands and Survey Department, Nelson, notifying that application for payment of balance on Kaiteri-teri-Riwaka road grant had been duly certified and forwarded to Chief Engineer of Roads, Wellington, copy of which was returned to the Board ; Chief Engineer of Roads Wellington, notifying that all claims against the Government in iespect of moneys' payable for work under agreements must be forwarded to Nelson not later than 28th February; Waimea County Council, notifying payment of ,£3O 17s, being balance of Government subsidy and 1900-1901 rates. The following resolutions were passed : That the accounts presented be paid, cheques were signed for £l9 7s 4d; that the Secretary be instructed to order seven 12 inen pipes to repair an old culvert in Sandy Bay, and that T. Franklin be employed to put it in ; that Messrs Pattie, Currin and Co’s request for a grant Irom the Board of £25 to assist in repairing the Riwaka Valley Road, the applicants to contribute a simiiar amount, be granted, and that Messrs Bate, Drummond and the mover (Mr Fry) inspect the road, with power to act; that tenders be invited, to be sent in by next meeting of the Board, for gravelling the new’ formation on Dodder’s road.
