The "Wellington City Council's new steam fire engine can throw a column of water to a height of 160 feet, about twice as high as from the main. Bishop Grimes, in his annual pastoral, stated that .£24,000 out of "the required ,£40,000 has been subscribed towards the erection of the proposed new Cathedral in Christchurch.
