STOCK SALES. At the Addington sale yards on Thursday last, the bidding for fat cattle was irregular, with prices easier, there being a drop of fully Is per 100 lb. Of store cattle there was a lar<e entry, and lots sold freely. There was a smaller entry of fait sheep than for the past few weeks. The bulk <■ insisted of fat ewes, with a few pens of prime wethers. Bidding was brisk for all lines of freezers, but fat ewes met with a dull and dragging sale, prices showing a drop of from 2s 6d to 3s per head, Of fat lambs there was a large entry. Although prices for all lines were easy at the opening of the sale, they improved as it progressed. The entry of store sheep totalled 6500. Bidding was very dull for store lamhs, but good for fresh conditioned wethers and good young ewes, which sold at rates fully up to past markets.

Messrs Freeman R. Jackson arid Co. (in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams) report that at their sale at Johnsonville, near Wellington, on Friday last as follows : —We had a fair yarding of cattle from medium to good quality beef. The bulk entered were cows and heifers, and sold at full values. A large entry of sheep and lambs came forward, and sold somewhat easier than of late. We quote . -
