Mr W. G. Murray, Commissioner of Crown Land for Westland, who has been notified of his transfer to Nels n, is one of the oldest residents of Hokitika, having been in the district fathe past thirty-five years. A local paper says there are few, perhaps none, in the colony who have such a knowledge of the Westland survey district as he has. While he has always proved himsqlf a most efficient officer, he was also a great favorite, both with his staff and the general public.
