SCHOOL PICNIC.

. At the meeting of the Lower Moutere School Committee held on - Monday evening the 4th instant, it was resolved . that if possible a steamer should be’ chartered for the pm-pose of taking the children attending ■ the Lower and Central Moutefe schools for a trip round the coast instead of the usual tea party. The children will be required each one, to take his, or her own dinner, and a tea. will be provided them before returning. The members of the Committee undertook to. ascertain what amount can be raised for the above purpose. This way of giving the children a treat lias been adopted upon several occasions in former years, and has been very much enjoyed, but the enjoyment depends upon the state of the weather. It was mentioned at the meeting that a flag staff had been provided, and erected at the Central school : the Secretary was instructed to apply to the Education. Board for a flag.
