CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

—o — A meeting of the Cricket Association was held at the Church of England Sunday school room on Friday night. Present: Messrs E. H. Andrews (Riwaka), Green (Ngatimoti), Benseman (Moutere), Askew (Brooklyn), H. Boyce and G. Jenkins (Motueka). Mr Andrews was voted to the chair.

The minutes of previous meeting were read and signed.

The Treasurer's statement shewed that after making provision for all liabilities, the Association had a credit balance of .£5 ss.

On the motion of Mr Askew Mr G. W. Jenkins was unanimously elected President for the ensuing year. For the position of Vice-President Mi- Andrews was elected on the motion of Mr Benseman, seconded by Mr Askew.

Mr Jenkins was appointed Secretary and Treasurer, on the motion of Mr Askew. It was mentioned at the meeting that Mr Jenkins had worthily filled the office during the past three years.

The following were elected Committeemen : Messrs H. Green, H. Everett, Goodall, E. Benseman, D.. Boyes. It was elicited that owing to various circumstances, there would be no junior matches played this year.

Entries for senior matches were received from the undermentioned clubs : Motueka, Riwaka, Ngatimoti, Brooklyn and Upper Moutere.

It was decided to start the Associations matches on the 16th instant. The names of clubs were drawn as follows:

Nov 16 : Motueka v Ngatimoti at Motueka._ Upper Moutere v Brooklyn at Upper Moutere. Riwaka a bye.

Nov 30 : Riwaka v Motueka at Riwaka. Ngatimoti v Upper Moutere at Ngatimoti. Brooklyn a bye. Dec 14: Brooklyn v Riwaka at Brooklyn. Motueka v Upper Moutere at Motueka. Ngatimoti a bye. Dec 21 : Ngatimoti v Brooklyn at Ngatimoti. Upper Moutere v Riwaka at Upper Moutere. Motueka a bye. Jan 11, 1902 : Brooklyn v Motueka at Brooklyn. Riwaka v Ngatimoti at Riwaka. Upper Moutere a bye.

Local matches to start at one o'clock. Outside games at 10.30 a.m. The subscription for the year was fixed at five shillings far each team. The President Mr Jenkins promised

a bat for the highest batting average, competitors to play in three out of four cup matche.-.

Mr Andrews' Vice-President, gave a trophy, value 10-s, for the best bowling average, the successful bowler to take not less than 30 wickets in three or more matches.

A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
