AN ENERGETIC MOTUEKA BOY.

Is Praised by an American Journal. In a late issue of the Horseshoer’s Journal, published monthly at Detroit, United States of America, we notice the following complimentary para graph referring to Master E. A. Knapp, soil of our respected townsman of that ilk, which we reproduce with pleasure . Probably one of the brightest, if not the very brightest of all our young correspondents, who has striven for and gained for himself a nice little timepiece through his work of circulating The Journal is Master E. A. Knapp, from far away Motueka* New Zealand. Master Knapp is a son of one of the leading horseshoers of that far-off country. His father has long been a reader oi The Journal, as well as an admirer of it. When given the opportunity he gladly became an. agent throughout his district of The Journal. Under date of December 12, Master Knapp pens the following letter ‘ which it will be seen by- our y-oung American workers is extremely creditable :—“ Since receiving your circular offering rewards to apprentices for getting new subscribers, I have been to work and have either lent or posted a sample Journal to all horseshoers in our district, that is, all within a circle of about 30 miles, and several others outside whom I know. 1 also waited on some of them. I think I came off very successful, getting five new subscribers, as there was only nine horseshoers in our entire district, and three of them already- take the Journal, as y-ou will see by-looking over y-our books. One horseshoer whom I went to see smiled at me and questioned me as to whether he should ‘learn any-thing out of them books. My- father has stated that if all apprentices had served their time with the Horseshoers’ Journal in their hands, they would have been better men mentally, socially and professionally.’ I am pleased to enclose money- orders for the subscribers which 1 have secured.
