Dv Dendy, Professor of Biology at Canterbury College, has been studying New Zealand lamyreys caught in the Mataura, Southland. He has discovered a single eye on the back of the head and has come to the conclusion that instead of being two distinct genera of lampreys, there are three forms through which they pass in the process of development. A Berlin watchmaker has invented an instrument which will measure time to the thousandth part of a second.
