The first hatch of the Motueka Mounted Rifles proceeded to the range on Wednesday afternoon last for the purpose of taking part in the annual

class firing. Tlie weather was excellent, the slight wind blowing having had no perceptible influence on the firing. The range was 200 yards, lying, standing, and kneeling, seven shots each attitude. The sipnad was under the supervision of Lieut. Batchelor. The following are the scores :
