The following are current prices paid to farmers, f.0.b., Lyttelton, and free of commission, except where otherwise specified : Wheat : Hunter’s pearl and velvet, 2s 5d to 2s fid, and Tuscan 2s fid to 2s figd f.o.b. Oats : Canadian 2s Id to 2s2d, short feed 2s to 2s 2d, duns and Danish Is lid to 2s, f.o.b. Barley : (nominal) malting 2s 3d to 2s fid, secondary Is 8d to Is lOd at country stations. Beans : 2s 6-§d to 2s 7d, f.o.b. Peas: (nominal). Flour (millers’ quotations) : Roller, £6 15s. Sharps : £4. Bran : <£3 10s. Oatmeal : .£ll f.o.b. Potatoes: Derwents £4 10s at handy country stations. Oatsheaf chaff—37s fid to 40s at near country stations. Hay: <£2 10s to £2 15s delivered ; primes! baled =£4 f.o.b. Grass Seed—Ryegrass, farmers’ lots, Is 3d to Is fid, heavier, Is. 9d to 2s, prime heavy, town dressed 2s fid to 3s 3d, cocksfoot 21 dto 2 Jd, town machiundressed," 161 b to 171 b old seed to 3fd, f.0.b., cowgrass fid to 6Jd, extra choice 7d, white clover fid to Bd, delivered. Dairy Produce; Cheese, factory, 4ld to sd, dairy 4d to sd-;. butter, factory, local, Is 2d, frozen lid, North Island 13d, dairy Is, salt (in boxes) 9d to 1 Od; bacon, hams, fid to fijd ; factory bacon ami hams LI higher, fo.b. STOCK SALES. At Tattersall’s on Saturday there was an entry of about 45 hoises, a few of which were good sorts, and for these there was a fa ir demand, but practically no sale for others. Best draughts made <£3s to £37 10s, and giod saddle and harness horses £l2 to £2O. At Saturday’s markets there was a full entry of pigs, and they sold well at the following rates : —Suckers and weuners 4s 6d to 10s, and stores 1 Is to 18s. Poultry was in fair supply, and met with an active demand both for local consumption and export, prices showing an all-round advance. Hens brought 2s 3d to 3s 9d. pullets 3s to ss, roosters 3s 3d to ss, ducks 4s to 6s fid, ducklings to 4s 3d. guinea fowls 7s fid, hen turkeys 6s fid to 9s, all at per pair.
JoHXSOXVimE. —Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams, report that ox beef brought from 22s to 22s fid per 1001 b ; best bullocks made £9 to £9 17s fid, small £8 to £8 17s fid, prime heavy ewes 16s lOd, good 15s9d.
Master ton. —Messrs Lowes and lorns quote fat wethers 14s lid and 15s, fat ewes 11s 8d to 12s 4cl, ewes in lamb 7s t, - 9s fid, best hoggets 10s 7d, others 8, fid to 8s 9d, culls 5s to 5s Bd, a line < f prime heifers, rising three years, bred by Mr Stuckey, of Te Rangitumau, L 7 8s: beef cows LB, test dairy e <ws L 5 10s, others L 4 5s to L 5; he - fers L 3 ss, store cows L2 t; L 3, small calves LI 2s.
