of settlers from different parts of the district attended to pay their last respects. The mourners consisted of jMr Richmond Hursthouse, Messrs |John, William, Calvert and Leonard I Hursthouse (sons of the deceased) T.Wb I Thorp, Burrell (Ngatimoti), Major and j|Captain Chaytor (Marlborough). The coffin was borne to the grave by neighbors, Messrs Smith (3) and Thomas Starnes. The Rev. T. Johnston, resident Church of England clergyman read the burial service in an impressive

, manner. A number of floral tributes were sent, including one from the Motueka liovomyii Council.

Yesterday, the mortal lemains of Arthur Bisiey were interred in the Motueka Cemetery. The funeral procession was a representative one, and included boys and girls from the school; also those who were mates of the deceased. The beavers were Messrs Satherly, Atkins, Bryant and Boyes, former schoolfellows. Wreaths were sent by friend* and sympathisers. The Rev T. Johnston officiated at the grave.
