DIED.
Mangonui, November 29, 1859. On the 29th November, Hone Pororua, son of Pororua Te Taepa, Chief of Mangonui. He was a well conducted young man and his father deeply mourns his loss. Hone Pororua has left two sons. His father, mother, and wife, are in great grief because of his death. Maungatapu. On the Ist May, x 859, Taoho was taken sick. He desired those who had gathered together to be kind to the Pakeha as to their patent. He died on the lGth July. It was through him that we came under the Crown of the Queen, out of respect for the dying words of our Chief. From the Ngatihe tribe.
