On the Bth day of June, at the Kaipakepako, Taranaki, Tamihana, son of Te Hapimana, the principal Chief of that place.

At Te Ahuahu, near Waimate, in the month of July, Anaru Te Ati, Chief of the Ngatikorohue tribe, a warm friend alike of the European and Maori race, a Christian teacher, and an excellent man. He was a most unwearying peacemaker, and dies deeply regretted by all who knew him. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they -shall be called the children of God,"
