ITALY.

The papers chronicle an event of general interest relative to Italy, namely, " the opening and consecration of a fine new Church built for the use of the Waldenses." The building is re presented as being a fine piece of architecture \ it is also capacious, and is situated in one of the best streets of Turin. About twelve hundred persons were present; there was also a considerable concourse outside. Two sermous were preached on this occasion, one in Freneh, and the other in Italian. The British Government have long and nobly aided the by granting a large sum annually to the inhabitants of the ValHes for religious and educational purposes. The fund in question ( rurnishes a part of the salaries of fifteen pastors, fifteen parish schoolmasters ami ninety hamlet schoolmasters." The number ol the Waldenses, is estimated at 20,000.
