A mail who was " wanted " by the' police had been photographed previously in sis different positions., Tmd the pictures wer.duly circulated among the police. The chief of police in a count'rv town wrote to headquarters a few days after the pictures had lieen distributed:- "1 duly received the pictures of the six whose capture is desired. I have Arrested five of\tliem. and the sixth is under, observation. ind will be secured shortly." By the modern process of spinning metal threads ifc is possible to make a single pound of steel stretch a distance of 7Q miles.
