Our Ranfurly correspondent writes: ~A farewell social was tend red to Trooper Frank Bleach on September 27th. The hall was comfortably filled notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather. During the supper adjournment Mr Alex. Smith, on behalf of the residents.of the, district, presented the guest with a wristlet watch, and in so doing paid a tribute to the Bleach family for the part they are doing toward winning the war. Trooper Bleach' suitably replied. Refreshments were kindlv handed round by the ladies, and songs and a recitation were also given daring the evening. The Farewell Committee have also forwarded a Wristlet watch to Private J. Allison and a case of pipes to Gunner Frank Oakden, both of whom are now in camp.
