Commencing to day (Monday) an increase will bo made in the prices of all spirits sold over the bars of the hotels in Dunedin. For all imported liquors the price will now be 9d a glass, with 1 the exception of a special kind of \ brandy for which Is a glass will be \ charged. In the present threepenny ! bars the price of a long glass of beer L with a "dash" of lemonade has been } increased to 63, the charge without the >• lemonade being 4d. A medium glass L * of beer may still be obtained for 3d. The price of bottled spirits bß*. also L . been raised all round, the increase in 3 some cases running into several shil- . lings. Advice has been received from l- the president of the Auckland Licensed s Victuallers' Associction that all im- * ported spirits are to be sold in that * city at 9d a glass as from to-day. A \, meeting of the trade will be held in Christcburch en Tuesday to consider ; the position there.
