Maintenance of Production. Mr W. D. Hunt, Commissioner, writes under date 15th September, 1917: Following up my circular of 31st July, a large number of additional information cards have now been received, and it is possible to form a fairly accurate estimate of the situation. As you will notice by the Return below, the final results do not differ greatly from those shown in the circular above referred to, uDd there is no need to modify the remarks made previously on the subject. As then stated, production is being kept up remarkably well, though at the expense of development and maintenance, the neglect of the latter being much the more serious consideration.
