The Anchor Line steamer Regulus which left Nelson on Monday night for Westport was blown up and sank within 20 minutes. At 1 o'clock the morning a terrible explosion took place in the forehold, opening up the starboard side of the vessel, which filled rapidly. All the crew were saved. Indications point to the explosion being done by an infernal machine.
Cbtplain W. H. Roberts will preach on Sunday at Kyeburn at 11 a.m., Waipiata 3 p.m., Naseby 7 p.m., in the Anglican church.
